Weil Construction built a 20,667 sf addition to the Albuquerque Public Schools’ Career Enrichment Center (CEC).  The facility is a two-story structural steel building with glazing, metal siding and stucco exterior finishes.  Interiors feature concrete floors and a hardwood staircase.  

 

The first floor of the facility contains two commons areas.  The main commons area features an innovative horizontal bi-fold door to allow in fresh air and natural light.  The first floor also includes a kitchen, a large classroom and a specialized EMT classroom with related storage and office areas. 

 

The second floor houses a chemistry lab and physics lab outfitted with customized medical grade countertops.  An upper commons area and balcony walkway is open to the lower level and provides access to the classrooms, a staff work room and restrooms.
